IM K-5 Math: Adapting a Lesson Using Learning Goals (Grades K-2)

Gain an understanding of how the learning goals can help inform day-to-day choices to
help with pacing in this flexible curriculum.

How can focusing on pedagogical decisions in our planning support the focus and pacing of the lessons? The purpose of this session is to provide teachers with strategies for making adaptations to lessons, based on the learning goals, in order to maintain pacing. The session builds on participants’ understanding of the problem-based lesson structure developed in Teach & Learn. Participants will gain an understanding of how the learning goals can help inform day-to-day choices to help with pacing in this flexible curriculum.

Learning Goals

  • Learn to plan in order to improve pacing of warm-ups.
  • Learn to plan in order to improve pacing of lessons.
  • Learn to plan with a deeper focus on the important mathematical ideas of a lesson.

Prerequisites: IM K-5 Math: Teach & Learn

IM K-5 Math: Adapting a Lesson Using Learning Goals (Grades K-2)

Audience: K-2 Teachers who have gained comfort with the problem-based lesson structure.

Cost: $200

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made more than 180 days prior to this event will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made between 180 and 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund minus a 10% processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of the event.

The deadline to register is January 15, 2024.
