IM K-5 Math: Establishing Instructional Routines (Grades 3-5)
May 18 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

How do instructional routines promote access to grade-level mathematical content? This session allows teachers to experience instructional routines firsthand and reflect on how the structure encourages deep thinking about mathematical ideas and fosters an inclusive classroom community. Participants will gain an understanding of common structures across routines, will learn how to navigate the Routines Bundle, and be ready to incorporate the provided routines into their classrooms. This session precedes the Teach & Learn professional learning sessions that teachers will experience prior to the launch of their implementation.
Learning Goals
- Describe the purpose of different instructional routines.
- Explain how instructional routines invite all students to access grade-level content.
- Explain the value of notation as helping students to draw connections between important mathematical ideas.
**Due to the interactive nature of this virtual session and copyrights on the materials recordings are not available.**
