Teachers implementing IM K-5 Math who are gaining familiarity with the problem-based lesson structure and have taught many of the units.

When: While implementing IM K-5 Math, at least 6 months into the school year

Description: How does understanding the progression of mathematical ideas in a unit support us in planning and teaching lessons across the unit? In this session, teachers will learn a process to help them understand the mathematical progression of ideas in an upcoming unit through the use of unit narratives and assessments. They will use these understandings to support them in planning with the mathematical goal in mind.

Learning Goals

  • Learn mathematical progressions to plan for student learning across grades and across a unit.
  • Explore representations to guide learning about a mathematical progression.
  • Use understandings of representation prgressions to advance student thinking.

Prerequisites: IM K-5 Math: Teach & Learn

IM K-5 Math: Understanding Math Content Progressions Across Grades (Grades K-2)

Audience: K-2 Teachers who have gained comfort with the problem-based lesson structure.

Date: December 13, 2023

Times: 9:00 – 11:00am CST

Location: Online

Cost: $200

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made more than 180 days prior to this event will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made between 180 and 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund minus a 10% processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of the event.

The deadline to register is December 11, 2023.

*Workshop may not run if enrollment is less than 15 participants. In the event of a cancellation due to low enrollment full refunds will be issued.*
