Unveiling Math Milestones

March 27 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Be among the first to receive “Math Milestones,” a new tool developed by Dr. Jason Zimba, a Founding Partner of Student Achievement Partners and lead author of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. The Milestones bring the standards to life, putting a clear picture of the math in each grade on a single page. If you’re a teacher, principal, or coach, Dr. Zimba will show how to use this new perspective on math to improve learning in your school and classroom year upon year.

Goals:

  • Participants will gain a clearer understanding of what’s involved in teaching to state standards for their grade level.

  • Participants will learn how they can use a new set of resources to improve mathematics instruction in their schools systematically year upon year.

  • Standards are an essential equity backstop, but the difficult and abstract language of standards can also obscure inequities in public education. Math Milestones can help ensure that historically underserved students and students experiencing poverty have access to – and equitable support for learning – the grade-level mathematics that is too often denied them.
