Unveiling Math Milestones *Virtual Workshop*
March 27 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
** Event Restructured– Due to the developing COVID-19 outbreak this event has been moved to a virtual format. Although we know face to face learning is often more effective we must place the health and wellness of our communities first. While this is not our preferred format we are excited to continue to offer this learning opportunity. **
Be among the first to receive “Math Milestones,” a new tool developed by Dr. Jason Zimba, a Founding Partner of Student Achievement Partners and lead author of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. The Milestones bring the standards to life, putting a clear picture of the math in each grade on a single page. If you’re a teacher, principal, or coach, Dr. Zimba will show how to use this new perspective on math to improve learning in your school and classroom year upon year.
Participants will gain a clearer understanding of what’s involved in teaching to state standards for their grade level.
Participants will learn how they can use a new set of resources to improve mathematics instruction in their schools systematically year upon year.
Standards are an essential equity backstop, but the difficult and abstract language of standards can also obscure inequities in public education. Math Milestones can help ensure that historically underserved students and students experiencing poverty have access to – and equitable support for learning – the grade-level mathematics that is too often denied them.
