Closing the Achievement Gap Consortium

The CAGC is a regional coalition of 35 diverse suburban, public school districts and private school organizations located in southeastern Wisconsin. Their leaders have come together to develop common professional development options for their school communities to eliminate achievement and opportunity gaps and are committed to addressing the persistent inequalities typically found in American schools. The Math Institute shares the belief that ensuring all children reach their academic and social-emotional growth is the true measure of an excellent school district.

The Wisconsin Mathematics Council is committed to providing relevant professional learning, fostering effective mathematics leadership and advocating for all teachers as professionals and all learners as doers of mathematics so that mathematics is understood as an intriguing and intrinsically beautiful way to make sense of the world. The Math Institute encourages all math teachers to have WMC memberships and either present at or attend the annual conference!

Building an equitable and coherent PK-20 system of mathematics preparation so students have access to the array of post-secondary options afforded them. The WI-MA Task Force is part of a multi-state effort directed at bridging the gaps between high school and college mathematics.

The Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) is the largest professional organization devoted to the improvement of mathematics teacher education—it includes over 1,000 members devoted to the preservice education and professional development of K-12 teachers of mathematics.
