DESCRIPTION

How can focusing on pedagogical decisions in our planning support the focus and pacing of the lessons? This session provides teachers with strategies for making instructional decisions during lessons and planning, based on the learning goals, in order to maintain pacing. The session builds on teachers’ understanding of the problem-based lesson structure developed in Teach & Learn. Teachers will gain an understanding of how the learning goals can help inform day-to-day choices to help with pacing in this flexible curriculum. In later sessions, they will build on this knowledge as they incorporate responding to student thinking, and using their growing understanding of math progressions.
