IM K-5 Math: Leveraging the Problem-Based Lesson Structure (Grades K-2)

Now that teachers have had some experience teaching with IM, how can they deepen their understanding of the problem-based lesson structure, their role in student learning, and bringing activities to life with students? This session will address common challenges and concerns in IM implementation.

Learning Goals

  • Recognize how the embedded problem-based lesson structure supports teachers in making decisions that promote access to important mathematical ideas.
  • Identify teacher moves that:
    • leverage a diverse set of student ideas to cultivate students’ pride in knowing and doing mathematics 
    • increase access to mathematical ideas for all students

Prerequisites: IM K-5 Math: Teach & Learn

Audience: K-2 Teachers in their first few months of teaching with IM Math.

Cost: $200

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations made more than 180 days prior to this event will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made between 180 and 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund minus a 10% processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of the event.

The deadline to register is October 3, 2022.
