Explore mathematical language routines (MLRs) that support the learning of mathematics and language development.

How can Math Language Routines provide enhanced access and challenge for all learners, and especially English learners? The purpose of this session is to explore several of the eight Mathematical Language Routines (MLRs) that support the co-development and learning of mathematics and language. Participants will explore Co-Craft Questions, Stronger and Clearer Each Time, and Collect and Display.

Learning Goals

  • Explain how learning mathematics is a language-demanding activity for all students.
  • Describe how Mathematical Language Routines (MLRs): foster mathematical thinking, promote language development, provide access to the problem, support collaborative work
  • Plan for successful classroom use of MLRs.

Audience: Teachers, with coaches and leaders

Location: Online

Cost: $200

REFUND POLICY: Cancellations made more than 180 days prior to this event will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee. Cancellations made between 180 and 30 days of the event will receive a 50% refund minus a 10% processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 30 days of the event.
